Hair on your chest

Breakfast consisted of yesterday’s dinner. Yesterday’s dinner consisted of sheep vertebrae and potatoes. It wasn’t that he was trying to be rude so much as he was trying to wait for his appetite to return. He had a few bites and said he was full. Je, Luter, Je. Eat! He had a cheering squad for every meal. Shaship Jatam… I’m in a hurry… He repeated these newly memorized sounds, punching out the syllables in staccato; his teacher had said they would come in handy. He had been a bit tentative about the diet before coming, but it was eight weeks before he had to use the words for, “I’m hungry.” Five meals a day of anything will keep you full.
